DC-3 Inauguration at MPS
Thursday 'July 16, 2015 - Anne Cor Groeneveld, founder of DDA Classic Airlines, unveiled the world's first professional DC-3 simulator today at the MPS’ factory in The Netherlands. The realization of the simulator was made possible thanks to an initiative of MPS-founder Dick Verburg. He was able to acquire the cockpit of an original DC-3. After a few years of hard work by MPS engineers the simulator is ready. Because the cockpit is an exact copy of a real DC-3, pilots can be trained on this simulator. MPS is working closely with EASA to obtain approval for the simulator as a "Flight Training Device-2(FTD-2). When approved, crews from the estimated three hundred operational DC-3/C-47s can be trained on this simulator.
